Core i5-6600K vs Xeon E5-2620 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6600K is faster than the Xeon E5-2620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2620 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2620 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-6600K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-6600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2620. Also, the Core i5-6600K has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6600K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
