Core i5-6600K vs Xeon E3-1270 v3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1270 v3 is faster than the Core i5-6600K. Despite this, the Core i5-6600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon E3-1270 v3 has more threads. Both the Core i5-6600K and Xeon E3-1270 v3 have the same clock speed. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1270 v3 outputs less heat than Core i5-6600K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-6600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
