Core i5-6600K vs Ryzen 5 4500 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 4500 performs better than the Core i5-6600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-6600K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-6600K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-6600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6600K. Also, the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 4500 outputs less heat than Core i5-6600K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600K. The Ryzen 5 4500 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
