Core i5-6600K vs Core i7-11700 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-11700 is faster than the Core i5-6600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-6600K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-11700 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-6600K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-6600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-6600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700. Despite this, the Core i7-11700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6600K CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-11700 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-11700 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600K. The Core i7-11700 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
