Core i5-6600 vs Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U performs better than the Core i5-6600. Despite this, the Core i5-6600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-6600 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-6600. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6600 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600. The Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
