Core i5-6600 vs FX-9370 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-9370 performs better than the Core i5-6600. Despite this, the Core i5-6600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-9370 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9370 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-6600. A Core i5-6600 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9370 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-9370 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600. The FX-9370 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
