Core i5-6600 vs Core i5-6600K comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-6600K beats the Core i5-6600 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-6600 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-6600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6600. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i5-6600 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-6600K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6600 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
