Core i5-6500TE vs Xeon E5-620 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6500TE is faster than the Xeon E5-620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-620 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon E5-620 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-620 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6500TE. Despite this, the Core i5-6500TE has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6500TE CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-6500TE has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E5-620. The Core i5-6500TE also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-6500TE has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
