Core i5-6500 vs Xeon X5570 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-6500 performs better than the Xeon X5570. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5570 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-6500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5570. Also, the Core i5-6500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6500 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5570 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Xeon X5570 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
