Core i5-6500 vs Athlon X4 760K specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6500 is faster than the Athlon X4 760K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon X4 760K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-6500 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Athlon X4 760K has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Athlon X4 760K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6500. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Athlon X4 760K has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-6500
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-6500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
