Core i5-6402P vs Pentium Gold G7400 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Pentium Gold G7400 performs better than the Core i5-6402P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-6402P in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-6402P has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Pentium Gold G7400 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Pentium Gold G7400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6402P. In terms of cache, the Pentium Gold G7400 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-6402P. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6402P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
