Core i5-6400 vs Xeon X5570 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5570 beats the Core i5-6400 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-6400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5570 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-6400. Also, the Xeon X5570 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6400 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5570 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Xeon X5570 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-6400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
