Core i5-6400 vs Ryzen 5 7520U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6400 is faster than the Ryzen 5 7520U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 7520U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 7520U has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 7520U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-6400. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 7520U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-6400. Despite this, the Core i5-6400 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 7520U.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-6400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
