Core i5-6300HQ vs A10-6700 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-6300HQ beats the A10-6700 in overall performance. Despite this, the A10-6700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-6700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-6300HQ. Also, the A10-6700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-6300HQ CPU outputs less heat than a A10-6700 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-6300HQ has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
