Core i5-5257U vs N100 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-5257U is faster than the N100. Despite this, the N100 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the N100 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Core i5-5257U that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-5257U has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the N100. The info from our database shows that the N100 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-5257U. The N100 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-5257U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
