Core i5-4690K vs Xeon X5650 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-4690K performs better than the Xeon X5650. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5650 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon X5650 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-4690K has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4690K. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-4690K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5650. Also, the Core i5-4690K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-4690K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5650 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-4690K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
