Core i5-4670K vs Core i9-12900T benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-4670K performs better than the Core i9-12900T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-12900T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i9-12900T has significantly more cores than the Core i5-4670K. Indeed, the Core i9-12900T has 16 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-4670K. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4670K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4670K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i9-12900T. Despite this, the Core i9-12900T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-12900T outputs less heat than Core i5-4670K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i9-12900T has more L2 cache than the Core i5-4670K. The Core i9-12900T also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-4670K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
