Core i5-4590S vs Xeon E5-620 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-620 beats the Core i5-4590S in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-4590S has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-620 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4590S has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-620. Also, the Core i5-4590S has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-4590S CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-620 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-4590S has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
