Core i5-4460 vs Xeon E5-620 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-4460 beats the Xeon E5-620 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-620 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-620 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-620. Also, the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E5-620 outputs less heat than Core i5-4460 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-4460 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E5-620. The Core i5-4460 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
