Core i5-4460 vs Ryzen 7 5700X3D benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is faster than the Core i5-4460. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-4460 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-4460 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4460. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-4460. Also, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-4460 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D has more L2 cache than the Core i5-4460. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
