Core i5-4460 vs Phenom II X6 1065T benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-4460 is faster than the Phenom II X6 1065T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Phenom II X6 1065T in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Phenom II X6 1065T has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-4460 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4460. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Phenom II X6 1065T. In terms of cache, the Phenom II X6 1065T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-4460. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
