Core i5-4460 vs FX-8320E comparison
In our benchmarks, the FX-8320E beats the Core i5-4460 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-4460 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-8320E has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed than the FX-8320E. A Core i5-4460 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8320E has more L2 cache than the Core i5-4460. The FX-8320E also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
