Core i5-4460 vs FX-8120 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8120 is faster than the Core i5-4460. Despite this, the Core i5-4460 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the FX-8120 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8120. A Core i5-4460 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8120 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8120 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-4460. The FX-8120 also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
