Core i5-4460 vs Celeron G550 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i5-4460 beats the Celeron G550 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron G550 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-4460 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Celeron G550 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G550. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Celeron G550. The Celeron G550 outputs less heat than Core i5-4460 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-4460 has significantly more L2 cache than the Celeron G550. The Core i5-4460 also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
