Core i5-4440 vs Xeon E5-649 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-4440 is faster than the Xeon E5-649. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-649 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-649 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-4440 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4440. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-4440 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-649. Also, the Core i5-4440 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E5-649 outputs less heat than Core i5-4440 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-4440 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
