Core i5-4430 vs Xeon E5-2620 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2620 beats the Core i5-4430 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-4430 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2620 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-4430 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4430. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-4430 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2620. Also, the Core i5-4430 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-4430 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-4430 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
