Core i5-4300U vs Celeron N4100 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-4300U is faster than the Celeron N4100. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Celeron N4100 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Celeron N4100 has significantly more cores than the Core i5-4300U. Indeed, the Celeron N4100 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i5-4300U. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-4300U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Celeron N4100. The Celeron N4100 outputs less heat than Core i5-4300U thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-4300U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
