Core i5-3570 vs Core i9-12900T benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-12900T is faster than the Core i5-3570. Despite this, the Core i5-3570 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-12900T has significantly more cores with 16 cores whereas the Core i5-3570 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-3570. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-3570 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-12900T. Despite this, the Core i9-12900T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-12900T outputs less heat than Core i5-3570 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-3570 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
