Core i5-3550 vs FX-8320E benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8320E is faster than the Core i5-3550. Despite this, the Core i5-3550 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the FX-8320E has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-3550 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. A Core i5-3550 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-3550 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
