Core i5-3450 vs Xeon E5-2620 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2620 is faster than the Core i5-3450. Despite this, the Core i5-3450 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2620 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i5-3450 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-3450. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-3450 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2620. Also, the Core i5-3450 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-3450 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-3450 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
