Core i5-3340 vs Xeon E3-1220 v3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 is faster than the Core i5-3340. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-3340 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. Both the Core i5-3340 and Xeon E3-1220 v3 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1220 v3 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-3340 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1220 v3 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-3340 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
