In our benchmarks, the Core i5-3317U beats the Core 2 Duo E7500 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core 2 Duo E7500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i5-3317U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Duo E7500 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-3317U. A Core i5-3317U CPU outputs less heat than a Core 2 Duo E7500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
