Core i5-13600KF vs Ryzen 7 9700X benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-13600KF beats the Ryzen 7 9700X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 9700X in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-13600KF has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 9700X. Indeed, the Core i5-13600KF has 14 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 9700X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 9700X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 9700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-13600KF. Also, the Ryzen 7 9700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 9700X outputs less heat than Core i5-13600KF thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 9700X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-13600KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
