Core i5-13600KF vs Core i9-13900KF comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i9-13900KF is faster than the Core i5-13600KF. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-13600KF in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i9-13900KF has significantly more cores with 24 cores compared to the Core i5-13600KF that has 14 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-13600KF. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-13600KF has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-13900KF. Despite this, the Core i9-13900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i9-13900KF has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-13600KF. The Core i9-13900KF also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-13600KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
