Core i5-13600KF vs Core i7-14700K benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-14700K performs better than the Core i5-13600KF. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-13600KF in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-14700K has many more cores with 20 cores compared to the Core i5-13600KF that has 14 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-13600KF. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-13600KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700K. Despite this, the Core i7-14700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-14700K has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-13600KF. The Core i7-14700K also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-13600KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
