Core i5-13600K vs Core i7-14700 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13600K performs better than the Core i7-14700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-14700 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-14700 has significantly more cores than the Core i5-13600K. Indeed, the Core i7-14700 has 20 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i5-13600K. It also has more threads than the Core i5-13600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-13600K has a much higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700. Despite this, the Core i7-14700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14700 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-13600K. The Core i7-14700 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-13600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
