Core i5-1335U vs Ryzen 7 7840HS benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7840HS is faster than the Core i5-1335U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1335U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-1335U has slightly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 7840HS has 8 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 7840HS has more threads than the Core i5-1335U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 7840HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1335U. Also, the Ryzen 7 7840HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7840HS has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-1335U. The Ryzen 7 7840HS also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-1335U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
