Core i5-12500T vs Ryzen 7 6800HS benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 6800HS is faster than the Core i5-12500T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-12500T in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-12500T that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-12500T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12500T. Also, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-12500T has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 6800HS. The Core i5-12500T also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-12500T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
