Core i5-12500T vs Core i7-1270P specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-12500T is faster than the Core i7-1270P. Despite this, the Core i7-1270P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1270P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i5-12500T has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-12500T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-1270P has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-12500T. Also, the Core i7-1270P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1270P outputs less heat than Core i5-12500T thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-1270P has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-12500T. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-12500T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
