Core i5-12450H vs Core i7-11600H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12450H performs better than the Core i7-11600H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-11600H in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-12450H has slightly more cores than the Core i7-11600H. Indeed, the Core i5-12450H has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i7-11600H. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11600H has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12450H. Also, the Core i7-11600H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-11600H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-12450H. The Core i7-11600H also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-12450H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
