Core i5-1240P vs Ryzen 7 6800HS benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-1240P beats the Ryzen 7 6800HS in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 6800HS in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 6800HS has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1240P. Also, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-1240P CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 6800HS CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-1240P has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-1240P.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-1240P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
