Core i5-1240P vs Ryzen 5 7430U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 7430U is faster than the Core i5-1240P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1240P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 7430U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 7430U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7430U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1240P. Despite this, the Core i5-1240P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7430U outputs less heat than Core i5-1240P thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-1240P has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 7430U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7430U has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-1240P.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-1240P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
