Core i5-1235U vs Ryzen 5 7530U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 7530U beats the Core i5-1235U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-1235U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1235U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 7530U that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7530U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1235U. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 7530U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-1235U. The Ryzen 5 7530U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-1235U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
