Core i5-11600KF vs Core i7-9700F specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-11600KF performs better than the Core i7-9700F. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-9700F in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700F has slightly more cores than the Core i5-11600KF. Indeed, the Core i7-9700F has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11600KF. Despite this, the Core i5-11600KF has more threads than the Core i7-9700F. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-11600KF has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700F. Also, the Core i5-11600KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-9700F outputs less heat than Core i5-11600KF thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-11600KF has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-9700F. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11600KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
