Core i5-11600K vs Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme performs better than the Core i5-11600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11600K in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme has slightly more cores than the Core i5-11600K. Indeed, the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11600K. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-11600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme. Despite this, the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme outputs less heat than Core i5-11600K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11600K. The Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
