Core i5-11600K vs Core i9-10850K specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-10850K performs better than the Core i5-11600K. Despite this, the Core i5-11600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-10850K has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-11600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i9-10850K. Despite this, the Core i9-10850K has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i9-10850K has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11600K. The Core i9-10850K also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
