Core i5-11600K vs Core i7-10700K specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10700K is faster than the Core i5-11600K. Despite this, the Core i5-11600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-11600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-10700K. Despite this, the Core i7-10700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-10700K has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11600K. The Core i7-10700K also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11600K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
