Core i5-11400T vs Core i7-8650U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11400T is faster than the Core i7-8650U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8650U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-11400T has significantly more cores than the Core i7-8650U. Indeed, the Core i5-11400T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i7-8650U. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8650U. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8650U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-11400T. Also, the Core i7-8650U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-8650U outputs less heat than Core i5-11400T thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-11400T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8650U. The Core i5-11400T also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
