Core i5-11400T vs Core i3-1220P specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-11400T beats the Core i3-1220P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1220P in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i3-1220P has significantly more cores than the Core i5-11400T. Indeed, the Core i3-1220P has 10 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400T. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i3-1220P has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400T. Also, the Core i3-1220P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1220P outputs less heat than Core i5-11400T thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-1220P has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11400T. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-11400T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
