Core i5-11400H vs Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE comparison

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE beats the Core i5-11400H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11400H in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400H. Despite this, the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-11400H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-11400H.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
